NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (CNN) -- Authorities have not yet been able to calculate the number of people killed in Hurricane Katrina's rampage across the Gulf Coast, but Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt told CNN on Sunday it is "evident it's in the thousands."
